JS Wrestling Team

Returning Team for 2009-10

  • Powerful Freshman from last year will certainly make a huge impact this season to include George Torassa, Jonathan Fidler, Mike Deely, Maverick Hall, Alex Arroyo and Matt Halley.
  • Returning seniors Everest Linder and Christian Platt will be at the helm this season
  • After missing most of last season JS has a MCAL champion returning as  Junior in Spencer McGuinn.

 

Prospects for 2008-09

  • Incoming freshman class will have alot to prove to keep up with last years outstanding class that returns as sophomores.
  • Rumors have it that several missing links from last year will be back on the mat this year...stay tuned!

There have only been 5 Head Coaches of  Wayne Law (2008-),Roger Bubel (2003-2007)Chuck Granada (1998-2002) Jason Guiducci 1995-97 GL Siner(1993-95).

Deeper History

In 1996-97 ...Jason Guiducci as head coach with Jesse Ward and Ritzie Tolentino assisting. JJ Cooney won his 2nd SCAL title, placed 2nd at the Sub-Sections and made it to SAC-Joaquin Sections. Roy Traina won SCAL and qualified for Subs. He led the team in wins over the 4 year period. The team scored it's 1st ever dual meet victory over Dixon HS.
In 1995-96 ... Jason Guiducci named head coach, with Jesse Ward assisting. JJ Cooney, went on to win the SCAL title as a junior and qualified for the Sub-Sections. Roy Traina qualified as well.
In 1994-1995 ... GL Siner was the coach, with Jesse Ward assisting him. Several wrestlers qualifed for the sub-sections that season. They were Roy Traina, Tim Craig, Garrett Andrews and Scott Evans, who tragically passed away during his senior season in '97.
The 1993-1994 year was the Inaugural season .... GL Siner was the head coach and Jason Guiducci was assisting. We had two seniors who led the team David Berry and Michael DePasquale. DePasquale graduated from Notre Dame. Roy Traina, a freshman had a solid year and became one of the top kids over the next 4 years. Justin's 1st female wrestler was on the team too ... Holly Aubry was her name.
